I see many stories about people from non-tech backgrounds getting AI roles. Is it actually possible to land a Deep Learning job without a CS degree or prior coding experience, or is the entry bar much higher than the "success stories" on LinkedIn lead us to believe?

It is a mix of both. The "myth" is that you can do it without learning to code at all—that’s impossible. You must become proficient in Python. However, the "truth" is that you don't need a formal CS degree. Many companies care more about your portfolio and your ability to solve real-world problems. If you can show a GitHub repository where you’ve implemented a custom model that solves a specific business problem, that often carries more weight than a degree. It is a hard path that requires hundreds of hours of self-study, but the door is definitely open for those who are disciplined.

Justin, those tools help with basic tasks, but they actually make the "coding" roles more valuable. Companies need people who understand what's happening under the hood when the low-code tool fails. I'd argue that while the barrier to entry for using AI is lowering, the barrier for engineering AI remains very high and requires solid coding skills.

It's a reality if you are willing to learn Python and math. It's a myth if you think you can just click buttons on a dashboard and get a six-figure salary.

Well put, Sharon. The "No Coding" part of the title is the biggest lie. AI is built on code; there's just no way around that foundation.
