What is the average study duration for PMP certification training for a working professional?
I am planning to start my PMP certification training journey soon, but I work 40+ hours a week. I need a realistic timeline. Is it possible to be exam-ready in three months without burning out completely, or should I plan for a longer study period?

All answers to this question.
Three months is the "sweet spot" for most professionals I've worked with. If you dedicate about 10 to 12 hours a week, you can cover the material without losing momentum. During my PMP certification training, I spent one hour every morning before work and then did a four-hour deep dive on Saturdays. The key is consistency rather than cramming. If you stretch it to six months, you might start forgetting the concepts from the first month. Use practice exams early on to identify your weak areas so you don't waste time on topics you already know.

Did you find that using mobile apps for mock questions during your commute helped reduce the need for long study sessions?

Patrick, apps are a lifesaver! I used them during my lunch breaks to drill down on formulas and terminology. It makes the "official" study time much more focused on complex scenarios rather than just memorization. It definitely shaved off a few weeks from my total preparation timeline by keeping the concepts fresh daily.

I managed to pass in eight weeks by taking a formal boot camp, but it was very intense and required taking a few days off work.

Thanks Rachel! I think a mix of self-study and a structured boot camp might be the safest bet for my schedule to ensure I pass the first time.
