What is the average salary for a Senior Cloud Architect in the US?

That is a solid salary range, but do you think the location still plays a major role in these figures now that remote work is so prevalent? I am wondering if a Texas-based architect can really expect the same pay as someone in the Bay Area?

However, when you factor in performance bonuses and restricted stock units (RSUs) at major tech firms, the total compensation can easily cross the $250,000 mark. Transitioning from a SysAdmin role is a great move because you already understand the underlying infrastructure. Having the AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification is definitely a huge differentiator that justifies a higher starting bracket even during a pivot.
