What are the key differences between PMP and PRINCE2 for a career in global markets?

The PMP is largely based on the PMBOK Guide and is the gold standard in North America and much of Asia. It focuses on the knowledge areas and process groups a manager needs to be effective. PRINCE2, which is more common in the UK, Australia, and Europe, is a process-based methodology that provides a very specific framework for project governance. If you are working on large-scale infrastructure, PRINCE2’s focus on "Management by Exception" and clearly defined roles can be very helpful for governance, whereas PMP gives you a broader toolkit of techniques for leading people and managing risks.

Honestly, many senior roles now look for both. PMP shows your personal competency, while PRINCE2 shows you understand a structured organizational environment.
