Can AI agents truly collaborate in multi-agent systems for complex projects?

We’ve been experimenting with AutoGen and CrewAI for small modules, and the results are promising but messy. The "Coder" agent often gets into loops with the "Reviewer" agent if the prompts aren't perfectly aligned. However, for documentation and unit test coverage, it’s a powerhouse. By mid-2024, I expect we will see "AI Scrum Masters" that can analyze sprint velocity and suggest adjustments in real-time. It’s not a replacement for the daily stand-up, but it provides data-driven insights that a human might miss during a busy week.

Danielle, if we have agents performing Scrum roles, does that change the "Definition of Done"? Should we have specific quality gates just for AI-generated artifacts to prevent technical debt?

• Absolutely, Kevin. Your "Definition of Done" must evolve to include "Human Validation" of agentic logic. We found that if you let agents talk to each other for too long, they start optimizing for things that don't matter to the end-user. The Scrum Master's role becomes even more critical in ensuring the "Multi-Agent System" stays aligned with actual business value and doesn't just produce "perfect" code that nobody actually asked for.

It works great for specialized tasks. We use an "SEO Agent" and a "Copywriter Agent" together. They argue until the content is both readable and high-ranking.
