How do we fix 'Learning Limited' status in Meta Ad Sets?
Half of our ad sets are stuck in "Learning Limited." We aren't reaching the required 50 conversions per week to exit the learning phase. Should we consolidate our audiences to get more data, or should we change our conversion event from "Purchase" to "Add to Cart" to give the algorithm more signals?

All answers to this question.
"Learning Limited" usually means your audience is too fragmented. In 2023, the biggest trend was "Account Simplification." If you have 5 ad sets with $20/day each, none will reach 50 conversions. Consolidate them into one $100/day ad set with a "Broad" audience. If you still can't hit 50 purchases, moving up to "Add to Cart" as your optimization goal is a viable strategy, provided your "Add to Cart" highly correlates with actual sales. This gives Meta's AI enough data points to actually learn who your customer is and start delivering the ad more efficiently.

Does increasing the budget by 20% or more trigger a "Significant Edit" and restart the whole learning phase from scratch?

Charles, yes, a 20%+ jump will usually reset it. If you want to scale without a reset, increase the budget by 10% every 48 hours. It’s slower but keeps the algorithm stable.

Sometimes you can just ignore "Learning Limited." If your ROAS is profitable and the CPA is within your range, the label doesn't actually stop the ads from being delivered.

Spot on, Donna. Don't let the red text scare you into making changes to a campaign that is already making you money. Profit is the only metric that truly matters.
