What are the best AI prompts for generating high-ranking SEO meta descriptions and titles?
I am trying to automate my content workflow using Gemini and GPT-4. However, the titles it generates often feel "too robotic" or over-optimized. Does anyone have a specific persona or structural prompt they use to balance click-through rate (CTR) with keyword density effectively?

All answers to this question.
The secret is to avoid asking the AI to "write an SEO title." Instead, give it a persona like "You are a conversion rate optimization expert with 15 years of experience in emotional copywriting." Then, provide it with a list of "Power Words" and a strict character limit (under 60 for titles). I’ve found that if I provide 3 examples of titles that performed well in the past (Few-Shot), the AI mimics that specific human "hook" much better than if I just give it a keyword list. It’s all about the constraints you set in the system instruction.

Do you find that asking the model to generate 10 variations at once helps, or does the quality start to degrade after the first few? I usually struggle with the last 5 being repetitive.

Grant, I usually ask for 5 variations but specify a different "angle" for each—one for curiosity, one for urgency, one for data-driven, etc. This prevents the repetitive "The Ultimate Guide to..." syndrome that most LLMs default to when they aren't given enough stylistic direction.

Use a "Reverse Prompt." Give the AI a high-ranking competitor's title and ask it to analyze why it works before asking it to write a new one for you.

That’s a brilliant technical hack, Shawn. Analyzing the "intent" first makes the final output much more aligned with what users are actually clicking on in the SERPs.
