AI is actually the "superpower" for the Citizen Developer, not the replacement. We are moving toward "Natural Language Development." Instead of dragging and dropping boxes, you’ll tell the AI, "Build me a dashboard that shows sales by region," and it will generate the LCNC structure for you. The value of a Citizen Developer isn't "coding"—it’s "Domain Expertise." An AI doesn't understand your company's specific workflow or internal politics. Your job will shift from "builder" to "orchestrator," where you use AI to handle the technical heavy lifting while you focus on the business logic and user experience.

• David, that is a huge concern. If people start copy-pasting AI code they don't understand into enterprise apps, we could see a wave of security breaches. This is why "AI Literacy" is becoming a core part of the Citizen Developer roadmap. We need to learn how to audit AI suggestions and ensure they follow company policy. IT will likely implement "AI Guardrails" within LCNC platforms that automatically scan for malicious or inefficient code snippets before the app is allowed to go live on the network.

AI will lower the barrier to entry even further. The "Citizen" part of the name will become more literal as almost everyone becomes capable of creating their own digital tools.
