You can feed a model a dataset, and it might find a correlation, but it won't understand that the correlation is a "black swan" event or a result of a specific marketing campaign. For Deep Learning specifically, while AI can optimize its own weights, the initial design of the neural network and the ethical considerations of the output must be handled by a human professional to avoid bias.

Total autonomy in ETL is unlikely because data sources are constantly changing and breaking in ways that require logical troubleshooting. AI is great at repetitive patterns, but it struggles when a source provides "dirty" data that it hasn't seen before. A human data analyst will always be needed to verify the integrity of the pipeline before it hits the production models.
