Evaluating the convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain in the 2026 tech stack.
I’ve been hearing a lot about "AI Agents" using crypto wallets to settle micropayments autonomously. It sounds like the perfect marriage of two technologies. However, with the skepticism still lingering from the last few years, I wonder: Is Web3 dead or just getting started again? Does the future of the decentralized web depend entirely on becoming the payment layer for AI, or does it still have a standalone value proposition for regular users?

All answers to this question.
The intersection of AI and Web3 is where the most significant "restarting" is happening. AI needs three things that blockchain provides perfectly: verifiable identity (to distinguish humans from bots), tamper-proof data (for training models), and permissionless payment rails. An AI agent doesn't have a social security number to open a bank account, but it can have a crypto wallet. This isn't just a niche use case; it’s the foundation of a new machine-to-machine economy. So, while the "social" version of Web3 might be struggling, the "infrastructure" version is thriving. We are moving into an era of "Verifiable Everything," which is a much bigger deal than just a new version of the internet.

With all this talk of AI, are we at risk of making Web3 even more technical and inaccessible for the non-developer crowd?

Scott, that is a valid concern, but I actually think AI will make Web3 easier. Imagine asking a chatbot to "transfer $50 to my brother" and it handles the gas fees, the bridge, and the wallet address in the background using a smart contract. The complexity is high for us building it, but for the user, it will finally be as simple as sending a text. That’s the "something bigger" we’ve been waiting for since 2010.

Web3 isn't dead, it's just maturing into "LegalTech." Smart contracts are finally being recognized in courtrooms, which is the ultimate validation.

Exactly, Martha. The regulatory clarity in regions like the EU has given enterprises the green light to actually use this stuff for legal and financial audits.
