Course Overview
We conduct Microsoft Project training program based on Schedule Architecture Mastery, Advanced Resource Management, and EVM tracking. Professionals will train you about developing a proper WBS, implementing iterative scheduling, and using Resource Leveling to equip you with the functional knowledge and business insights to lead and manage projects effectively.
Our 40-Hour Hands-on Simulation training program will fully prepare you to pass your Microsoft Project certification exam and also give you an in-depth knowledge about the various and best Project Management software practices.
Benefits of Microsoft Project Training
At the end of this course, you will:
- Schedule Architecture Mastery: Develop a proper WBS and implement iterative scheduling for Waterfall and Agile hybrid models
- CPM Focus: Identify the tasks that dictate your completion date to guarantee on-time delivery
- Advanced Resource Management: Use Resource Leveling to resolve over-allocation and monitor work consumption
- EVM and Baseline Tracking: Master SPI and CPI metrics to objectively report on project health
- Custom Reporting: Tailor views and tables to generate variance and cost overrun reports for sponsors
- 40-Hour Hands-on Simulation: Gain practical speed through an intensive, project-based curriculum
Microsoft Project Fundamentals
Lesson 1: Interface Essentials Familiarize yourself with the ribbon, views, tables, and core environment elements.
Lesson 2: Project Setup and Calendars Create project files, define start/finish dates, and configure working and non-working time.
Defining Scope: The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
Lesson 3: Building the WBS Master hierarchical task structures, summary tasks, and phases to ensure full scope capture.
Lesson 4: Task Types and Durations Manage manual vs. auto-scheduling, task types (Fixed Duration, Units, or Work), and duration estimates.
Mastering Schedule Logic and Critical Path Method (CPM)
Lesson 5: Task Dependencies and Links Apply logical relationships (FS, SS, FF, SF) including Lead and Lag time.
Lesson 6: Critical Path Analysis Use CPM to identify the longest task sequence, reduce float, and determine shortest duration.
Lesson 7: Constraints and Deadlines Apply constraints like Must Start On or Start No Earlier Than and set milestone deadlines.
Advanced Resource and Cost Management
Lesson 8: Defining and Assigning Resources Set up and assign Work, Material, and Cost resources based on effort.
Lesson 9: Resolving Over-Allocation Identify overallocation and use manual or automated leveling to smooth workloads.
Lesson 10: Cost Management and Budgeting Track resource rates and fixed costs to develop and manage a reliable project budget.
Tracking, Performance and Earned Value Management (EVM)
Lesson 11: Baselines Save and manage multiple baselines as the official plan for performance comparison.
Lesson 12: Updating Progress Enter actual start/finish dates, work, and percent complete for precise tracking.
Lesson 13: EVM Calculations Calculate and interpret key metrics: PV, EV, AC, CPI, and SPI for health reporting.
Lesson 14: Forecasting and Variance Analyze baseline variances to accurately forecast the Estimate at Completion (EAC).
Customization and Reporting for Stakeholders
Lesson 15: Custom Views and Tables Create custom tables, filters, and groups to display specific data for executive reports.
Lesson 16: Visual Reporting Generate professional reports, such as Cash Flow and Burn Down, for various stakeholders.
Lesson 17: Collaboration and Project Online Learn file sharing and Project Online/Server basics for team and portfolio management.
Lesson 18: Troubleshooting and Exam Prep Resolve common scheduling errors and review performance-based exam formats and practices.
